16th International Master Course for Pianists - 2009

16TH INTERNATIONAL MASTER COURSE FOR PIANISTS
Wrocław - Poland.

17 - 27 August 2009.

 

16th International Master Course for Pianists took place as planned 17-27 August 2009. 12 pianists from Poland, Hungary and the USA applied to the course. One person did not come due to family reasons. The course was characterised by very high level of artisitc potential of all participants - almost all of them are prize-winners of international piano competitions (altogether they won tens of various prizes).
The professor of the course was the outstanding artist (pianist, educator and composer) Alexei Orlovetsky (St Petersburg - Russia). The lectures on acoustics of concert halls and techniques of recording (given at the Institute of Acoustics of the Wroclaw Technical University) and lectures devoted to playing "a vista" and functioning of a piano were conducted by Maurycy Kin and Juliusz Adamowski.
There were five course concerts (in the Wroclaw Philharmonic Hall, Music and Literature Club in Wroclaw, Piast Dynasty Castle in Brzeg, F. Chopin Manor House in Duszniki Zdrój). The concert in the Wroclaw Philharmonic Hall was professionally recorded on a CD.
The course participants received gifts from the Department of Promotion at the Lower Silesian Office, TiFL's jubilee bulletin, course information brochures and local cultural magazine "Co jest grane" with photos of all participants.
The particiants were provided with excellent practicing facilities (the number of rooms with grandpianos was equal to the number of participants) and accommodation (single and double rooms in Savoy hotel) and board. Additional value of the course are the unique interiors of the Music and Literature Club.

The Course has been organised by the F. Liszt Society and Artistic Education Centre in Warsaw in cooperation with R. Bukowski State Secondary Music School, Music and Literature Club in Wroclaw Wroclaw Philharmonic, Silesian Piast Dynasty Museum in Brzeg,Culture and Sport Centre in Duszniki Zdrój, Promotion Department at the Lower Silesian Province Marshal Officei and "Creator Sp. z o.o." in Wroclaw.
