26th INTERNATIONAL MASTER COURSE FOR PIANISTS (German Edition)

in co-operation with the F. LISZT SOCIETY - Wroclaw, Poland

 

 

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Ferenc Liszt Society in Poland, a new cooperation has been established with the German Cultural Society “Musik- und KulturFestival GL e. V.”. The next edition of the International Master Course for Pianists will be held on 12 – 18 August 2019 in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany (near Cologne). This is a new level of the international  development and promotion of the International Master Course for Pianists in Wroclaw (Poland).

 

Course Regulations

 

The Course is, first of all, for those pianists who want to take part in different music competitions. It is not obligatory, though. Applicants can submit any soloist repertoire or for piano duets.

 

Qualification to the course will be based on artistic biography of the candidate, assessment of their participation in previous editions of the course and the order of applications.

 

The classes with the professors and individual practicing of the participants will be held in the participants will be held in the Music School in Bergisch Gladbach.

 

Accommodation and breakfast are provided at the Thomas Morus Akademie (a high class castle hotel on the mountain, with a beautiful view on Cologne, www.tma-bensberg.de). There are about 15 minutes by walk to the one of two central bus and train stations connected directly with Cologne (25 minutes) and all the beautiful suburbs of the region Rhein-Berg.

Accommodation for accompanying persons can be booked only if requested before 21st July 2019.

 

Course fee for active participation is 790 EUR (or 895 USD) for soloists and 690 EUR (or 780 USD) for each member of piano duets; for passive participation – 450 EUR (or 500 USD). The fee includes active or passive participation in the course, accommodation (single room) between 12th and 18th August, breakfast, practicing opportunities and a special ticket for four rides by bus from the hotel to the school of music and back. The charge of participants who do not ask for hotel accommodation will be reduced by 100 EUR.

 

The active participation includes two lessons with each of the professors, and rehearsal for the final concert (if the candidate is selected).

For all participants there are also excursions around Bergisch Gladbach and Bergisches Land as well as to Cologne (if requested, in the free time).

 

The final concert will take place on Saturday, 17th August, in der Town Hall Bensberg (chamber music hall, 199 seat places).

Furthermore, selected participants will be invited to perform with the Symphony Orchestra of Bergisch Gladbach well as to take part in concert series and festivals in the city.

 

Diplomas. During an informal meeting after the final concert, all the participants will receive diplomas of participation. It will take place in Town Hall Bensberg.

Bank operations costs outside Germany must be covered by the applicants themselves.
The registration fee will be refunded only if there is no possibility to admit the applicant. The remaining part of the fee will be to pay as specified in the letter confirming acceptance of the applicant to the course.

The affirmative acknowledgement of participation at the course will be sent by email to all accepted participants not later that 1st July 2019.

Visa. Due to the international regulations, all foreign applicants are asked to check at their local authorities or at a German Embassy whether the visas are necessary for them to come to the Federal Republic of Germany.
