Eleni Ioannidou

Eleni Ioannidou - a soprano from Wrocław, with Polish-Greek roots. She studied classical singing and graduated with honourable distinction from the Atheneum Conservatory (Athens), after which she received a scholarship from the Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Muzyki / Athens Concert Hall. She continued her education at the Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst (Vienna), Accademia della Scala di Milano (Milan) in the class of Leyla Gencer. She also completed the Corso Biennale "Il Teatro e la Musica" course (Italy).

 

She has performed in Asia (Japan), North America and many European countries. The most important concerts took place in Italy (Arena di Verona, La Scala di Milano, Piccolo Teatro di Milano, Teatro Donizetti di Bergamo) and Greece (National Opera in Athens). She performed alongside Jose Carreras at Megaron Mousikis Athinon as part of a charity concert for a foundation working to counteract leuchemia.

 

She participated in numerous opera performances, including The wedding of Figaro by W.A.Mozart (part of the Rozina Countess), Così fan tutte by W.A.Mozart (part of Fiordiligi), Parisin by G. Donizetti (part of Parisina), Ugo, Conte di Parigi by G. Donizetti (part of Biancha), Norma by V. Bellini (part of Norma) , Verdi's Troubadour (part of Leonora), Verdi's Aida, Falstaff by G. Verdi (part of Alice) and Traviata by G. Verdi, Adrian Lecourvreur by F. Cile, Tosca G. Puccini.

She is the laureate of first prizes in international competitions Velluti (Mira), Giuseppe di Stefano (Trapani) and finalist of Voci Verdiane (Busseto).

 

Since 2012, she began to organise cultural events, first in Munich as a music and theater producer, then from 2016 in Görlitz as artistic director of the Meetingpoint Music Messiaen association (she organized, among others, the International Messiaen Days Festival Görlitz-Zgorzelec 2017), currently she is the president of the Ars-Augusta Association eV, whose main purpose is the organization of artistic events in Lower Silesia and Saxony, supporting Polish-German cooperation.
