Ferenc Liszt Society in Poland

Ferenc Liszt Society in Poland (TiFL), founded in Wroclaw in 1989, is a nationwide association with the aim of popularising music. Its main stress is laid on the output and the person of Franz Liszt himself as well as his connections with Polish culture. TiFL conducts artistic, didactic and popular scientific activities, emphasising diverse ways of promoting talented youngsters. Over 2370 artists, teachers and students from 44 countries took part in the concerts, courses and competitions of the Society.

In almost 1050 concerts held so far, about 550 performers from 29 countries took part (some of them played many times), including 301 pianists and around 300 young artists, who performed in 69 concert halls (52 of them in Poland and 17 abroad - in Budapest, Györ, Moscow and St Petersburg).

We have organized 4 international (1999, 2002, 2005, 2008) and 4 nationwide F. Liszt piano competitions (1991, 1993, 1995, 1997).

Since 1993, we have organized international master piano courses in Wroclaw, where participated 542 pianists from 29 countries. The event has already become renown in professional music circles. Professors were the most outstanding artists-pedagogues: Halina Czerny-Stefanska and Andrzej Jasinski (Poland), István Lantos (Hungary), Lee Kum Sing ( Canada), Victor Merzhanov, Alexei Orlovetsky (Russia) and Boris Petrushansky (Russia-Italy).

Apart from hundreds of interesting open classes, there were 93 concerts of the course participants in various venues (e.g. Philharmonic Hall in Wroclaw, Silesian Castle in Brzeg, Chopin Manor House in Duszniki Zdroj). Many participants of the international master courses attain significant successes.

We have also organised 16 nationwide piano courses with over 1000 participants (770 teachers and 257 students from over 70 Music Schools) led by Alexei Orlovetsky.
