Godziński Sebastian

Sebastian Godziński - polish pianist born in 1991 in Grudziądz. He graduated from the Academy of Music in Gdańsk in the piano class of Prof. Waldemar Wojtal and in the chamber music class of Prof. Anna Prabucka-Firlej. Since 2016 he has been studying at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Rostock in the piano duo class of Prof. Volker Stenzl and Prof. Hans Peter Stenzl together with his brother Arkadiusz Godziński.

Since the beginning of his musical education he has actively participated in cultural events of the local community. As a soloist, he was distinguished at the International Piano Competition in Żagań (2004) and received third prize at the International Piano Festival in Nałęczów (2014). He took part in master classes conducted, among others:  Krzysztof Jabłoński, Andrzej Jasiński, Aleksiej Orłowiecki, Kevin Kenner. He has performed in many places in Poland, including the Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio of Polish Radio and the Fryderyk Chopin Museum in Warsaw.

Since 2014 he cooperate with Emilia Osowska, Natalia Krajewska-Kitowska and Joanna Sobowiec-Jamioł in Les Femmes vocal ensemble. They gave concerts in France, and several spectacles, including songs by Polish composers "Polish Landscape", which was exhibited at the Gdańsk University of Technology and at the Wilanów Palace.

Currently, his main trend of artistic activity is chamber music. Together with his brother Sebastian Godziński he creates a piano duo in which he has been successful at international competitions in Paris (first prize), Padua (first prize), Cracow (fourth prize), Isabelin (third prize), Rome (second prize), Gioia del Colle (second prize) and Lviv (second prize). He has taken part in master classes in chamber music conducted by such artists as Ivan Klansky, Dora and Anastas Sławczew, Sivan Silver and Gil Garburg, Barbara Halska, Szabolcs Eszteneyi, Volker Stenzl, Katarzyna Jankowska-Borzykowska, Jacob Leuschner, Yuval Admony and Tami Kanazawa. They have performed in many cities in Europe and in Israel.

He has been awarded grants by the vice-chancellor of Gdańsk Music Academy, the Marshal of Cuiavia-Pomerania Voivodeship,  the ‘Agrafka Muzyczna’ programme. He won prizes awarded by the Marshal of Cuiavia-Pomerania Voivodeship, the Mayor of Grudziądz and the Mayor of Gdańsk. Since 2016 he has been supported by DAAD (German Academic Exchange Centre), from which he has received a prestigious scholarship for the duration of master's studies in Rostock.


Godzinski Piano Duo is created by brothers Arkadiusz Godziński and Sebastian Godziński. They have been playing together since they were 6 years old. Their musical abilities were develop for 12 years in music school in family city Grudziadz (Poland). In 2010 they start studying at the Academy of Music in Gdansk under the supervision of Anna Prabucka-Firlej and Miroslawa Sumlinska. In 2016 they began Master Studies at the Academy of Music and Theatre in Rostock (Germany) in the renowned duo class of Hans Peter Stenzl and Volker Stenzl. For the duration of their studies, they were granted a prestigious DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) scholarship. Godzinski brothers were also repeatedly awarded by polish national and local government institutions for outstanding achievements.
They took part in many masterclasses and worked under direction of great piano duos such as Yaara Tal and Andreas Groethuysen, Sivan Siler and Gil Garburg, Anne Louise-Turgeon and Edward Turgeon, Dora Sławczew and Anastas Sławczew and famous chamber musicians – Ivan Klansky, Radoslav Kvapil, Szabolsc Esztenyi and Aldis Liepins. They played many concerts in Poland, Germany, France and Italy.
They get won a lot of awards in competitions:
2017 – II Preis in Chopin International Music Competition in Rom
2017 – I Preis in "Citta di Padova" International Piano Competition in Padua (Italien)
2017 – I Preis in Category: "Virtuosite" & I Preis in Category: "Excellence" in "Concours Musical de France" in Paris.
