Jarzynski Dawid

DAWID JARZYNSKI clarinetist and composer born on 24th of december 1984 in Tychy (Poland). 1991-2003 he was working under the guidence of prof. Leopold Perek (clarinet) and prof. Felicja Bieganek (theory of music) at the Zespól Panstwowych Szkól Muzycznych w Katowicach (Poland). 2003-2009 he was studying clarinet with prof. Matthias Mueller, bass-clarinet with prof. Elmar Schmid, and chamber music with prof. Radovan Vlatkovic, Thomas Indermuehle und Isabel Mundry at the Zurich University of the Arts (Switzerland). He has done masterclasses with: Eduard Brunner, Charles Neidich, Sharon Kam, Sabine Meyer, Martin Froest, Alessandro Carbonare, Guy Deplus, Philippe Cuper, Thomas Friedli, Reiner Wehle, Ralph Manno, David Campbell, Matthias Mueller, Mieczyslaw Stachura, Giorgio Mandolesi, Gaby van Pas-Riet and Adriana Hoelszky. Dawid Jarzynski is a prizewinner of international and national performance and composers competitions: 3rd Clarinet Festival in Piotrków Trybunalski, Poland (1999 – 1st prize in category clarinet solo), 4th Clarinet Festival in Piotrków Trybunalski, Poland (2001 – 2nd prize in category clarinet solo, 1st prize in category ensembles), 30th “Young Musician” Competition in Szczecinek, Poland (2002 – 2nd prize), 4th National Audition of Woodwind Instruments for Students of the Schools of Music at the 2nd level in Olsztyn, Poland (2002 – 3rd prize), 3rd “Patri Patriae” National Composers Competition in Katowice, Poland (2002, 1st prize), 4th International Contest for Young Composers “Crystal Kamerton” in Moscow, Russia (2003 – the statuette of Crystal Kamerton), 5th Clarinet Festival in Piotrków Trybunalski, Poland, (2003 -1st prize in category clarinet solo), Concours National d’Execution Musicale de Riddes, Switzerland (2005 – 1st prize), 6th Clarinet Festival in Piotrków Trybunalski, Poland (2005 -1st prize in category clarinet solo), 4th “Patri Patriae” National Composers Competition in Katowice, Poland (2006 – 3rd prize), 10th International Competition of Contemporary Chamber Music in Cracow, Poland (2006 – b in category soloists), “Young Soloist” International Competition in Luxembourg-Ville, Luxembourg (2006 – silver medaille), “Ohrid Pearls” International Competition for Young Musicians in Ohrid, Macedonia (2007 – 2nd prize), The 1st Michal Spisak International Music Competition in Dabrowa Gornicza, Poland (2007 – 1st prize), The 5th International Independent Music Competiton ‘Individualis’ in Kiev, Ukraine (2007 – 2nd Prize), 7th Alexandre Tansman International Competition of Musical Personalities in Lodz, Poland (2008 - 3rd Prize), as well as Deutsche Musikwettbewerb in Berlin, Germany (2009 – sholarship with concert engagements), and a holder of awards and distinctions: Marguerite Meister (2005), Kiefer Hablitzel (2009), Migros Kulturprozent/Ernst Goehner (2009,2010), Friedl Wald Stiftung (2009), Young Artists Scholarship of Jolanta and Aleksander Kwasniewski (2002), Scholarship of the Polish Prime Minister (2001), Scholarships of Polish Ministry of Culture (1999,2000, 2002, 2007, 2010), Scholarship of the Silesian Voivodeship (2003,2005), Award of the Mayor of Katowice (2000,2001,2003).
As a soloist he has played with the Berliner Rundfunk Sinfonieorchester, Jenaer Philharmoniker, Musikkollegium Winterthur, Silesian State Philharmonic Orchestra, Suedwestdeutsche Kammerorchester Pforzheim, Baden-Badener Philharmoniker, K.Szymanowski Youth String Orchestra, Orchestra for New Music, Chamber Orchestra of Zaglebie Dabrowskie and l’Orchestre du Conservatoire Superieur et Academie de Musique Tibor Varga, as well worked with sir Colin Davis and Stanislaw Skrowaczewski. In his discography he has a CD with clarinet works (inclusive world premiere recordings: *) of Patterson*, Yun, Chyrzynski* and Jarzynski* (DUX producers 2008, DUX0622, www.dux.pl), he also recorded for swiss radio channels DRS2 and RSR, german Deutschlandradio Kultur and SWR2 as well as polish PR2.During his solo recitals and concerts (from Tonhalle Zuerich, Berliner Konzerthaus to the Philharmonie Essen and Royal Castle Warsaw, from New Sounds Festival Canterburry 2009 to Menuhin Festival Gstaad 2010).
Dawid presents his repertory, consisting of more than 150 works (inclusive more than 50 clarinet concertos). 2009-2010 Dawid Jarzynski was teaching clarinet at the Zurich University of the Arts, as an assistant of Matthias Mueller, nowadays he plays in the Zurich Opera, as an Academy-clarinetist.
