Jasinski Andrzej

Andrzej Jasiński (Poland) completed with honours his piano studies under Prof. Wladyslawa Markiewicz in the State High School of Music in Katowice, Poland.

 


 

Also studied in Paris in the class of Prof. Magda Tagliaferro. In 1960 he won the 1st prize at the International M. Canals Piano Competition in Barcelona. Performed in Czechoslovakia, France, Japan, Poland and in USSR. Since 1961 has been teaching at the Academy of Music in Katowice, where in 1976 he received the title of professor, and where he was the Head of Piano Department (1973-96). In 1979-82 he led piano class in Hochschule für Musik in Stuttgart. He was the only professor of one of the most outstanding contemporary pianists - Krystian Zimerman. Prof. Jasiński leads master piano courses and is a member of Juries in many piano competitions (among others in Warsaw, Brussels, Paris, Moscow and in Tokyo). He has received many awards and high distinctions for his activity.
