Mroczek-Szlezer Danuta
Danuta Mroczek – Szlezer was born in Krakow in 1952. She started playing Piano at age of seven. She was graduated from the State Conservatory of Music with honors. In 1976 she finished her studies at the The State Higher School of Music in Krakow “summa cum laude” in the Piano class of professor L. Stefanski.
She continued the postgraduate studies at the “Accademia Chigiana” in Siena as well as in Weimar's (Germany) and Geneve's (Switzerland) Conservatories under the tutorship of professors: Kehrer, Ciccolini and Magaloff.
She is a perpetual winner of the National Chopin Piano Competition and finalist of the VII-th “R.Schumann” International Piano Competition in Zwickau (Germany).
She is a titular professor of Chamber Music at the Academy of Music in Krakow, former Head of the Chamber Music Department (1994-2006), holding recently a chair of the Interdepartmental Pedagogical Studies.
She is a co-founder of the Piano Trio “ARTEMUS”. As a performer she appeared in many important cultural centers of Poland ,Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Sweden, Kuwait, China, South Korea and Malta.
She did numerous recordings for “STEBO”,”Equant” and ”Moderato Classics”.
She is a member of the Society of Polish Musicians and founding member of F. Liszt Society.
