Sikorski Marcin

His performance is highly acclaimed both by the audience and critics. Marcin Sikorski graduated in 1996 from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music (Katowice, Poland) as a student of Maria Szwajger-Kulakowska. In 1999 he completed a doctoral degree in chamber music at the Academy of Music (Poznan), where he has been an Assistant Professor in chamber music and an accompanying pianist. He studied piano and chamber music in master classes and music courses conducted by Isaac Stern, Leon Fleisher, Bruno Canino, Emanuel Ax, Erica Frieser and the members of the LaSalle, Juilliard, Emerson and Guarneri Quartets. In 2001 he took part in the Isaac Stern Chamber Music Workshop at Carnegie Hall in New York and played a concert there. He is a 1st prize winner of chamber music competitions in Paris and Gdansk and was a laureate in Pörtschach, Vercelli and Kraków. As an accompanist he won awards at several international violin competitions such as the Szymanowski International Violin Competition. He was an official accompanist of the 2006 Hannover International Violin Competition, 2008 Britten Violin Competition in London, the 1996, 2001 and 2006 Wienawski International Violin Competitions in Poznan and International Violin Competition Torun 2007. The CD with live recordings from last Wienawski Competiton with 1st prize winner – Agata Szymczewska was awarded „FRYDERYK 2006” Prize. He works in Music Academy Poznan and lives in Bydgoszcz with his wife Magda and three children – Sabina, Stas and Leos.
