Szymczak Gracjan
He was born in 1986 in Wroclaw. He started his piano education at the age of 7 in the Music School Complex in Walbrzych.
In 2004 he completed the State Secondary School of Music in Wroclaw in the class of Michal Szczepanski. Currently, a second-year student at the K. Lipiñski Academy of Music in Wroclaw in the piano class of Prof. Grzegorz Kurzyñski and simultaneously in the cello class of Prof. Lidia Grzanka-Urbaniak. Participated in numerous international piano master courses in Poland (e.g. in Olsztyn, Duszniki Zdrój, Krzy¿owa) and in Scotland.
Won a number of top prizes in nationwide piano competitions. In October 2005, he was a semi-finalist of the 15th International F. Chopin Competition in Warsaw, awarded with non-statutory “Janina Nawrocka” prize for a musically outstanding pianist. Won prizes and distinctions at several nationwide music festivals, e.g. “Tydzieñ Talentów 2005” [A Week of Talents 2005] in Tarnów, and “Chopin Interpretations of the Young 2005” in Konin.
Four times granted scholarship of the Minister of Culture (1998, 1999, 2000, 2002), scholarship of the Wroclaw Municipality (2001-2004) and of the National Fund for Children (2001-2003). Performed in many towns and cities of Poland (many time in the Royal Palace in Warsaw), in Germany and Scotland.
