Boris Petrushansky (Russia, Italy), prize-winner of international piano competitions, a graduate (1975) and a lecturer at the Moscow Conservatory (1975-79).

Started his piano studies under Heinrich Neuhaus, continued and completed under Lev Naumov. In this time he achieve success in two competitions: Leeds in 1969 and Munich in 1971. 1975 was the breakthrough year in Boris Petrushansky's career: he graduated from the Moscow Conservatory, won first prize at the Alessandro Casagrande Competition in Terni, Italy, and achieved great artistic success and wide recognition performing at the Festival dei due Mondi at Spoleto and the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Festival (substituting Sviatoslav Richter). Since then he has been conducting rich artistic activity giving recitals and symphonic concerts in almost every European country, and in Australia, Japan, Russia, the USA, South America, Egypt, Israel, South Africa, Korea. Petrushansky's concert repertorire is very broad.

He has made numerous recordings for various labels (e.g. all piano pieces of Dmitry Shostakovich and a number of works by Chopin, Liszt, Schumann). Boris Petrushansky serves as member of the jury of many international competitions such as "F. Busoni" (Bolzano), "D. B. Viotti" (Vercelli), "A. Casagrande" (Terni). He now resides in Italy where, since 1990 has held a position at the Accademia Pianistica "Incontri col Maestro" in Imola. Regularly gives master classes at the Royal Academy and Royal College in London, Royal Academy of Dublin, at Rowan University in New Jersey, and in various cities of Europe and Japan.
