Jenner Alexander

 

Alexander Jenner (Austria) – emeritus professor at Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna; laureate at international piano competitions; juror at the biggest world-wide piano competitions.

 


 

After completing studies under Paul Weingarten, Bruno Seidlhofer and Richard Hauser in his home town – Vienna, he started a rich artistic activity winning the highest prizes at international piano competitions (e.g. in Geneva and Rio de Janeiro), and giving recitals and working with the most popular orchestras and with the most outstanding conductors. Mr Jenner has performed in the majority of European countries, in Japan, USA, Brazil and in other countries of South America. Among a few hundreds of conductors he worked with, there are such legendary names as Ansermet, Jonsons, Klecki, Krips, Swarowsky, Abbado, Mehta, Dohnáyi, and Sawallisch. He has led numerous master piano courses (in Austria, Japan, Germany, USA, and Latin America). A juror of such competitions as: P. Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow; F. Chopin Competition in Warsaw, Poland; the 2002 G. Enescu Competition in Bucharest; the 2002 S. Rachmaninov one in Moscow; and the competitions in Hamamatsu in 2000, in Tokyo, Pretoria, Nagoya, Sydney, Bolzano, and Dortmund.  He has received many Austrian and foreign awards for his activity.
