Owczarz Jerzy
Jerzy Owczarz born in 1989 in Bielsko-Biała where he finished Stanisław Moniuszko State Music School in the pianoclass of Wacław Sroga. He continued his education with prof. Zbigniew Faryniarz in Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław where he achieved masters degree in 2013. During his studies he was granted rectors scholarship given to the best students. He also studied in Wrocław University in Musicology Institute. In June 2016 he began a phd in Poznań Academy of music under dr. hab. Maciej Pabich tuition. Furthermore he took part in many piano masterclasses and had lessons with prof. Borys Petrushansky, prof. Alexei Orlovetsky, prof. Istvan Lantos
.
His concerts in Poland took place in Wrocław (including two concerts in Wrocław Philcarmonic), Wałbrzych (including one solo recital and performance of Mozarts double Piano Concerto with orchestra led by Andrzej Maksymiuk in Sudecka Philcarmonic), Kraków, Warsaw and many other smaller cities like Bielsko-Biała, Oleśnica, Czechowice-Dziedzice, Wojnowice, Bolesławiec, Brzeg, Głogów, Duszniki, Oława, Krosno, Włoszakowice. He also played in Hungary (Budapest), England (London, Hammerwood), Italy (Massafra), Germany (Gorlitz, Reichenbach, Gossvitz, Zittau), Czechia (Ostrava, Karvina) and China (Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Ningbo, Jiaxing, Hnagzhou, Shanghai, Beijing, Changchun, Tianjin).
He collaborated with such agencies as Pro Arts (2014-2016) for which he performed more than 50 Chopin recitals, Pro Musica for which he performed a series of concerts in China with an orchestra led by Albert Seidl (2016/2017) and Hans Peter Manser (2017/2018). He also gave a few series of concerts organized by the Ferenc Liszt Associacion (2015/2016/2018).
In 2011 he participated in Concorso Internazionale di Esecuzione Musicale e Composizione "Valeria Martina" where he won the first prize in G category. In September 2012 he reached the semi-finals of the 18th Leos Janacek International Piano Competition in Brno. In August 2017 after reaching the final round he achieved a honorable distinction in 11 International Chopin Piano Competition in Marianske Lazne.
Aside of his artistic acivities he also leeds a pedagogical career. As a student he started to work in Wałbrzych State Music School and since 2015 he works in Zgorzelec State Music School. Furthermore since 2014 he gave a series of lectures in Music Academies in Prague, Ostrava and Brno about the style of performing Chopins pieces. Also he wrote a set of articles on this subject published in Poland and Czechia.
Among all he i salso a cultural events organiser. Since 2015 he is an artistic director of Wojnowice Music Salon – the cycle of concerts inspired by XIXth century salon traditions. In June 2016 it evolved to Lowersilesian Music Salons and until now over 40 concerts and masterclasses were organised in Poland, Czechia, Germany and Austria.
