Lux Erika
She born in Budapest, Hungary, started to perform in public at the age of 5.
When she was 12, she performed W. A. Mozart's piano concerto F major KV 459. At the age of 16, she graduated with honors from the Music Academy in Budapest. Her first great success was winning the Liszt and Bartok international competition in Budapest at the age of 19. She is also a winner of top prizes at the international piano competitions in Munich, Tokyo and C. Debussy competition in Saint-Germain-en-Laye. She has played at international festivals, e.g. in Paris and Salzburg. She has performed with numerous famous conductors (e.g. Yehudi Menuhin) and orchestras (e.g. Tokyo NHK, Bavarian Radio Orchestra, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande). Her concerts have been broadcast by the televisions and radios of many countries. Number of the concerts have been recorded on CDs. Since 1990 Erika Lux is a professor at Hannover Hochschule für Musik und Theater.
Received a number of awards for her artistic activity, e.g. from the Hungarian Minister of Culture, and the Hungarian Radio.
For the last few years, has been colecting adn preparing for performance pieces of Jewish origin.
